Update from BP - The scale of the response program is unprecedented. Our response efforts have grown from 2,000 people, during the initial weeks of the response, to over 45,000 at its peak in July. We have coordinated strategic deployment of people and resources from command centers and staging areas in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida. Unified Area Command and BP confirmed the MC252 well was killed Sunday, Sept. 19. Planning and implementation is underway to plug and abandon the two relief wells and the MC252 well in accordance with regulatory standards
